For each person officially working for them, they earn an additional £50 (a contract must be written and presented to mayor upon cash-in). Anyone can work. In practice, they must work for at least 20 minutes of each hour for it to count as work. This means doing push-ups/squats at a designated spot. For this, they receive hourly wages—the amount depends on what they negotiate with the employer.
Your factory will be ready to launch on the Day 2, 18:00. Ever since its launch, you will be earning £50 for every hour, even during the night. But the factory can be sabotaged. The sabotage can prolong start of the factory, as well as make it stop working, thus not generating any income, until it is fixed.

Bradley Harrington (42) built a shoe factory and made a fortune. Now, he has found a way to replace workers with robotics. In just a few more days, many people will be out of work. He is known as a ruthless businessman, proud of his fortune.
Childhood
Your father served his whole life under a wealthy lord. He earned enough to provide you with a quality education at a temple, but he spent his life groveling to his betters.
Since childhood, you knew you wanted to rise above them—to show them that you were better.
Business Years
Using your inheritance, you started a small business. Because you were merciless, your fortune grew quickly. You also hired innovative minds who developed clever technological solutions that allowed for automation. Now, you’re just one step away from having a fully automated factory. Your profits are about to skyrocket.
You even paid a handsome sum of 500 pounds to bishop from Aetherwick Columbus Ede to bless the factory in the moment of its launch.
Crime
The truth is, you would never have become as successful as you are without the help of Logan Ahern, who took care of anyone who posed a threat to you. You came to him when you were still a small fish, and he as well. You provided him with extra resources, he get rid you off the biggest problems of that time. Because of that, you rose to be one the 3 richest merchants in the Aetherwick. Your main competitors are Hughie McMillan (55), and Arthur Dart (30).
Hughie McMillian is an old Scot, conservative and ruthless, but falling behind due to your technological advances. Some time ago, Logan Ahern managed to hinder him by giving her wife a means to escape from her strict husband. Hughie has never learned what has happened to her. It stroke back though, because Hughie became even tougher and more hardworking then before, and became a real challenge. Lately, you started to search again for strategies how to slow him down. Assassination attempts failed, but Logan came to you he found a way how to make Hughie sick. You don’t know if he poisoned him, or did something else, and Hughie is still walking around, with his stern expression in face, but he seems to be weaker, and less agile.
Darts were the richest merchants in city, who kept winning simply because of their immense fortune, but Logan arranged a way to kill almost the whole family. There was a last member hidden in convent, Arthur, but he is spoiled brat who doesn’t know anything about a business, and he is just wasting money all around. He should not be a real threat.
If you manage to drive them both out of business, you’ll have hit the jackpot.
Title
You also found a way to acquire a title. During an illegal gambling night hosted by Logan Ahern, you discovered that Sir Waverly Scott was essentially broke. Arthur Dart and Bishop Columbus Ede were present as well. You offered to Scott in secret him a small fortune—£2,000—for the hand of his daughter, Victoria, through which you would also gain a noble title.
Goverment support
Soon, there will be election to parliament. You have little hopes of being elected yourself (but you could try), yet if you would manage to support the one who win’s it… possibly to fund his campaign… it could pay back to you nicely.
Passion for the game
You have probably only vice: a passion for a poker. You are reasonable, never loose much, and often wins a lot. But you want to play. You love the thrill.
Sir Waverly Scott (lord, 52)
An annoying old fart in many ways, constantly babbling about his time as a soldier and the victories of years past. But he has a title and a daughter—and those are things you want.
Lady Victoria Scott (16)
The moment you see her for the first time (happens in-game), you fall in love with her. You desire her. You want her to be your wife. But she is still only a woman — she should listen to you, just as your father once had to listen to the aristocrats of old.
Arthur Dart (merchant, 30)
You despise this young brat who never had to work for anything in his life. Yet, because of his wealth, he might be your most dangerous competitor.
Hughie McMillan (merchant, 55)
A tough son of a bitch who built himself up from nothing. He didn’t have the education you had or your father’s savings to start with. But he’s outdated — and he’s in your way. You respect him… and you’re ready to destroy him.
Logan Ahern (crime lord, 42)
You respect him, and you fear him — but you’d never show it. His methods can be brutal. You pay him monthly fees, but maybe it’s time to get rid of him… or perhaps gain the support of his competitor, Merrill Collins.
Columbus Ede (bishop, 45)
Bishop of Aetherwick, to whom you are going for masses, and confession. He also plays hazard but you guess you can’t deny him a human vices. Everyone has some.

1. Marry Victoria Scott
You fell in love with her the moment you saw her.
2. Get a title
Your whole life, the good-for-nothing nobility have looked down on you, despite everything you’ve achieved. Now, you’ll be their equal—more than equal—because you’ll have money, and they won’t.
3. Keep your business running
A lot of money flows through your factory. Running low on funds could have catastrophic consequences for you.

5. Find support in the government
It would be ideal to get elected yourself, but you currently lack strong backing. Still, you could easily build influence by supporting (financially or otherwise) someone who will win a seat. Choose wisely: will you run yourself, or back someone else?
6. Destroy your competitors
If you can take down Arthur Dart and Hughie McMillan, you’ll become obscenely rich—and that’s exactly what you desire. Because money means power, and power proves you’re better than the rest… which you are.
