  • Merchants earn £50 every hour from 9 AM to 6 PM (they must cash-in with the mayor). For each person officially working for them, they earn an additional £50 (a contract must be written and presented to mayor upon cash-in). Anyone can work. In practice, they must work for at least 20 minutes of each hour for it to count as work. This means doing push-ups/squats at a designated spot. For this, they receive hourly wages—the amount depends on what they negotiate with the employer.

  • Sex addict: at least 3 times per game, have sex. Male prostitutes (NPCs) can be bought at Merrill Collins.

  • Gay. You are able of having sex with a woman but you have no interest in it.

Arthur Dart (30) inherited a family business and become probably the richest man in the city. A golden child whose life is one big party. Reckless, spoiled, a primal source of all embarrassing stories in the Aetherwick.

Second Child

As the second child, not much was expected of you. Your older brother was meant to inherit the family factory and was raised accordingly. You were constantly scolded, asked why you couldn’t be more like him, and neglected in every possible way. No wonder you rebelled as much as you could — and no wonder your parents lost patience and sent you to a monastery.

There, you tasted a man’s semen for the first time. Though you hated being molested by the older monks, as you came of age, you began to enjoy different kinds of play with your peers. You even occasionally snuck out to visit brothels — only to realize that women could be entertaining, but also a bit dull.

Twisted Mind

You were often punished for your misbehavior… and you learned to take pleasure in it. Oh yes, you actually enjoy it. You like being degraded, humiliated, spanked, tortured — especially by men. And you’re just as capable of inflicting the same on others.

A man without morals knows no restraint. When you were eighteen, you found the monk who had made you taste his cock when you were just twelve. You cooked his cock and made him eat it. And you did many other things, until you were fully satisfied — and he was fully dead.

Sudden Inheritance

Truth be told, life in the monastery wasn’t so bad once you figured out how to find your pleasures. You even had a few special lovers. One of them was Columbus Ede, who is now the Bishop of Aetherwick. But then, two years ago, disaster struck: your mother, father, and brother all died in a boating accident. Suddenly, you inherited the family fortune — and became the wealthiest person in Aetherwick.

Spoils of the Business

Without even trying, you became the richest man in Aetherwick. But you had little interest in business. You appointed the right people to run the factory and began indulging in your newfound wealth… quickly squandering much of it. Still, you got a taste of your competitors.

There’s Hughie McMillian (55), a tough Scottish bastard who built his fortune through sheer hard work. There’s something admirable about his resolve — but he’s a stiff conservative who would burn you at the stake if he ever found out what you are.

And then there’s Bradley Harrington (42), the most progressive figure in the industry. He’s planning to open a fully automated factory — meaning higher profits and lower costs. You might not be able to compete. He’s arrogant and insufferable… and you hate him.

Hellfire Club

Soon after your arrival to Aetherwick, you were approached by Lady Muriel Clubb, who introduced you to her own kind of fun: the Hellfire Club — an orgiastic gathering for all kinds of filthy amusement. There are some interesting characters in the club: bishop Columbus Ede, of course. Chief of police Neil Johnson, humble, polite, but a real animal in bed, as you watched him. Claudia Knight, a common girl with some connection to criminal underworld, who is usually brining animals or girls or boys. You tend to avoid the boys, publicly, though, as you don’t want it to be generally known you are into men. And lady Isabel Scott, but not her husband – what a cheating little fox, she is.

To be honest, you quickly grew bored of the repetition. Still, you kept attending. You had your eyes set on one prize: Sir Early Clubb, Muriel’s husband — with a face to die for. And you might be ready to actually do it…

Destructive Thoughts

Because here’s another truth: being a homosexual in a heteronormative world is a lonely and painful experience. You carry a deep sorrow in your heart… you’re lonely, borderline depressed, and constantly anxious that your secret will be discovered — that you’ll be jailed, castrated, or killed. And a part of you yearns for it. The final humiliation. The ultimate destruction. You feel twisted in your desires — unworthy of love — and sometimes you long for death, because you believe you can never be truly loved.

Seat in Government

Still, there’s one thought you can’t ignore: soon, elections for Parliament will be held. With political power, maybe — just maybe — you could start a movement to normalize homosexual desire. But you’re afraid to put yourself in the public eye. It might be better to support someone else, someone who could lobby on your behalf. But who?

Poker Night

Recently, you joined an illegal poker game hosted by Logan Ahern, the local crime lord. Among the players were Bishop Columbus Ede (45), Bradley Harrington, and Sir Waverly Scott (52). Sir Scott lost heavily, and finally cried out in despair — he was completely broke. You overheard Logan give him two weeks to repay his debt. Later, you saw Bradley Harrington approach Sir Scott with an offer: he’d pay the debt, but only if Scott promised his daughter in marriage.

You despise Bradley. And now you’re thinking of making an offer of your own — marriage to the Scotts. It could be quite useful to have a wife in the eyes of society… even if you both quietly lived your separate lives.

Columbus Ede (bishop, 45)
A funny man whose main interest lies in all the pleasures the world has to offer — though he pretends to be a holy figure. His rhetorical charm and moral hypocrisy earned him the title of bishop. He desires you, and you’re fine with sleeping with him. You see him as a lowly man — but in a way, deeply human.

Hughie McMillian (merchant, 55)
Your competitor in the shoe business. A self-made man. Tough as hell. A devout Catholic and a puritan to the bone. You partly admire him, partly despise him — and partly fear him. Still, you enjoy provoking and mocking him whenever you can.

Bradley Harrington (merchant, 42)
Another rival in the shoe business. Too arrogant to be likable, a bit repulsive, but undeniably dangerous. His ambition to automate production poses a real threat. And you have to admit: taking him down would bring you immense satisfaction.

Lady Muriel Clubb (34)
A devious femme fatale who delights in intrigue and dominating both men and society. She’s clearly trying to seduce you — but you have no interest in women. Your true interest is her husband. Still, she’s entertaining, sharp, and oddly likable.

Sir Early Clubb (33)
A charming man. Your crush. Your obsession. Your affliction. You need to have him, no matter what.

Waverly Scott (52), Isabela (34) and Victoria (16)
You don’t know much about him, except that his wife, Isabela Scott (34), is a regular at Hellfire Club meetings. Perhaps she could be a way to get close to their daughter Victoria… and secure a socially strategic marriage.

Logan Ahern (crime lord, 42)
A ruthless crime lord specializing in gambling and drugs. A dangerous man — merciless, efficient, and absolutely not to be crossed.

Claudia Knight (22)
Strong, fearless, somehow connected to organized crime. Intriguing for sure.

Neil Johnson (chief of police, 45)
Humble man who is a real devil in bed, from what you could observe. Would be nice to ride him one day… but you are afraid he is not into man. As far as you know, he is happily married (even though he is cheating on her wife here).

1. You slept with Bishop Columbus Ede.

  • Knows: Columbus Ede, you.

  • Shouldn’t find out: The police, the public, the church authorities. It would cause a massive scandal. The bishop could lose his position, and you could be prosecuted or worse if the relationship were exposed.

2. You are gay.

  • Knows: You. Columbus Ese.

  • Shouldn’t find out: The police, the public, conservative rivals like Hughie McMillian. In a deeply heteronormative, conservative society, this could lead to public disgrace, imprisonment, castration, or death.

3. You are in love with Sir Early Clubb.

  • Knows: You. Possibly sensed by Lady Muriel Clubb.

  • Shouldn’t find out: The public, the Clubb family, especially Muriel. Early is married and a public figure. A scandal involving his sexuality could ruin both your reputations — and Muriel is not someone to be crossed.

4. You know Sir Waverly Scott is financially ruined.

  • Knows: You, Logan Ahern, Bradley Harrington.

  • Shouldn’t find out: The public, investors, journalists. If the news gets out, it will destroy Waverly’s social standing and possibly take his family down with him. It might also cause chaos in the business sector and affect political influence.

5. You know Isabela Scott attends Hellfire Club gatherings.

  • Knows: You, Muriel and Early Clubbs, Columbus Ede, Claudia Knight, Isabela, police captain Neil Johnson.

  • Shouldn’t find out: Likely her husband, Waverly Scott — though you aren’t certain. If Waverly is unaware, it could destroy their marriage and his already fragile standing. It also creates leverage, should you need to influence either of them.

6. You murdered a monk in the monastery.

  • Knows: You.

  • Shouldn’t find out: The police, clergy, public. Beyond the moral horror, it’s a capital crime. Discovery would lead to execution.

7. You’ve attended every Hellfire Club gathering for almost two years.

  • Knows: You, Muriel and Early Clubbs, Columbus Ede, Claudia Knight, Isabela, police captain Neil Johnson.
  • Shouldn’t find out: The public, police, conservative elite. Participation in such depravity would be social suicide, possibly criminal, and definitely exploitable by enemies.

8. You are an atheist

  • Knows: You
  • Shouldn’t find out: The public, as it could get you in troubles.

1. Stop Bradley Harrington’s Marriage
You dislike Bradley — his arrogance, his ambition, his smug sense of superiority. Ruining his marriage plans would be a small but deeply satisfying act of revenge. But it’s not just spite. If he marries into the Scott family, he’ll gain powerful social and political capital. You need to stop him to prevent him from consolidating influence you may never match.

2. Consider Marrying Victoria Scott
Find out if Victoria Scott could be a suitable wife. Not for love — but for cover.
A respectable marriage could shield you from suspicion. It might also gain you access to the Scott family’s connections, and keep Bradley from getting too close to them.
And perhaps, just perhaps, she might be someone you could come to trust. You don’t need passion — just safety, and a little peace.

3. Seduce Sir Early Clubb
You love him. You ache for him. You would kill for just one night in his arms. He represents everything you were told to suppress — tenderness, desire, beauty.
Is it dangerous? Yes. But you don’t care. You would rather burn for that one moment than live forever untouched.

4. Secure Your Company
Bradley’s plans to automate production threaten to destroy you. If you don’t act soon, your entire family legacy will be worthless.
You must either take him down — discredit him, sabotage him, bankrupt him — or find a way to match his progress. Industrial modernization may be distasteful, but it’s now necessary.

5. Begin Robotic Automation
You’ve decided to automate. Soon, human workers will be replaced by machines. But you need to get a know how. If you could only steal Harrington’s factory blueprints, you might be able to open your own factory in time.

6. Gain Political Influence
You need protection — legal, social, and economic. A seat in parliament could offer that. Either run yourself, if you dare… or find someone loyal, someone you can control.
With the right ally in office, you could reshape policies, silence accusations, and perhaps, slowly, change public opinion.

7. “Cure” Yourself… or simply find happiness
You don’t believe there’s anything wrong with you — not really. But the world does. The law does. Society does. And if they’re right… wouldn’t it be easier to be “normal”?
You’ve known love. You’ve known joy in the arms of other men. But you’ve also known fear, and loneliness, and shame.
If there were a way to stop wanting what you want — would you take it? Sometimes you think: yes.
