3 day magic punk larp from the Victorian era
Upcoming votes in Aetherwick are promising to bring quite a stir. Many people wants to get elected. There is an old nobility, full of pride and decadence. There is a new money, rich merchants, who are bringing technological progress without care for a regular worker and his salary. There are the poor who needs to have their right protected, and police, supposingly guardian of the law… but the law is set up by those with a full walet. There are women, and they have no protection in the eyes of law, no election right, no representatives in the government… despite the head of state being a woman. God safe th Qeen. And there is also church, more and more fighting against the decadence of the city… even though it is corrupted from the core.
But there is also something more. An old power coming to Aetherwick. Power, that can change it all.
And the question will be: which side will you choose? Who will you protect? And who will you betray, for the mere chance of survival?

Short Bios
Scotts
- Knight of Kerry, Sir Waverly Scott (52), is one of the most prominent figures in Aetherwick. A wealthy aristocrat from an old family, he has a beautiful wife and an even more beautiful daughter. He is possibly a future member of Parliament. He has always been looking down on the less fortunate — those who do not share his blue blood — times might change.
- lady Isabela Scott (34) is the wife of a very important man — the Knight of Kerry, Sir Waverly Scott. Everyone envies Sir Scott for having such a wife. Everyone wants her for themselves. She is a lovely person, with a smile for everyone in her class, and sometimes even for those beneath her. Yet, there is something cold and distant within her, and her eyes seem so… empty.
- lady Victoria Scott (16) is the daughter of a very important man, the Knight of Kerry, Sir Waverly Scott. She is even more beautiful than her mother. Raised with the discipline of noble upbringing, she is expected to follow all the rules of her class—yet there is a fire within her: passion, intelligence, and resistance.
Clubbs
- lady Muriel Clubb (34), Femme Fatalle of Aetherwick (34), always with her husband by her side, they are the must-be of every party, with a scent of forbidden emanating all around them. There are men who would kill or die for only one night to spend with her… and some already did.
- sir Early Clubb (33) the most handsome man in Aetherwick: elegant, slick, perhaps a bit flamboyant, always seen alongside his beautiful wife. Women go weak in the knees the moment they lay eyes on him. But there is also a hunger in his eyes—and that hunger is a bit frightening.
- Bradley Harrington (42) built a shoe factory and made a fortune. Now, he has found a way to replace workers with robotics. In just a few more days, many people will be out of work. He is known as a ruthless businessman, proud of his fortune.
- Arthur Dart (30) inherited a family business and become probably the richest man in the city. A golden child whose life is one big party. Reckless, spoiled, a primal source of all embarrassing stories in the Aetherwick.
- Hughie McMillan (55) is a true self-made man. Of Scottish origin, he built one of the biggest factories in the city. Toughest son-of-a-bitch in the business, one could say, but employing hundreds of people. But he is old… and possibly dying.
Neil Johnson (45) has served as Chief of Police in Aetherwick for a long time. A respected man, he does what he can to maintain law and order in the city. Yet many crimes remain unsolved. Children and young people are murdered in the streets, the wealthy die in their beds, their businesses burn… Aetherwick is a city steeped in violence.
Mitchell Donaldson (25) recently became an inspector. He is young, strong, and determined to make the city a better place. Someone has to protect the sheep from the wolves.
Liam Conolly (30) is an experienced inspector. Years on the force have changed him. He has become grumpy and ruthless. But he knows how to play the game. He understands that good and evil don’t really exist — and yet, he still tries to be of some use.
- Bishop Columbus Ede (45) is a bishop of Aetherwick. As the head cleric of the city, he is great orator. He is also jolly, warm, and friendly—but only to those of a certain status. He has no time to waste on the poor.
- Elliot Gregory (35) is a good Aetherwick priest. But the city is drowning in poverty, pain, and silence. So many broken souls, so much need for comfort — and yet neither the politicians nor the Church seem to give a damn. But someone has to. Someone has to try. So he does. Quietly, stubbornly, one person at a time.
- Silas David (25) came to Aetherwick from the Vatican to spread the word of God and cleanse this unholy city of all its sin. His voice is strong, his aura irresistible, and his passion fearsome. His mere presence strikes terror into the hearts of sinners.
Merrill Collins (42) is a dangerous name in Aetherwick’s underworld. She controls half of the drug trade and most of the prostitution business in the city. They say that if you’re looking to have a good time, you need Merrill. But be warned—don’t forget your debts or your manners. As a proper ex-whore, she knows exactly how to screw you over… and she’ll do it spectacularly.
- Claudia Knight (22) may be young, but she’s already the second most dangerous woman in Aetherwick—right hand to Merrill Collins, the city’s top crime boss. If you cross Merrill, there’s a good chance Claudia will be the last thing you ever see. And if you’re lucky, she’ll strip you naked before she snuffs you out.
- If you want a good game, you go to Logan Ahern (42). He has style. He has resources. And soon, he’ll have you too. Lose once in his establishment, and you’re doomed to lose everything. Or maybe it’s worse when you win—because that’s when you get hooked. And once you’re hooked, loss is inevitable.
- Samuel Fidget (22) is the silent type. He doesn’t speak much—but he fidgets. He fidgets with his fingers, and in those fingers is a blade. Blink a bit too slowly, and that blade might end up in your neck. As the right hand of crime lord Logan Ahern, he’s a legendary madman in Aetherwick. So be careful not to make him mad.
- First Investigative Journalist in Aetherwick – Linda Richey (25). Initially laughed at, now feared—her words have the power to move the masses. Even if many cannot read, once they hear what she has written, an avalanche can be unleashed. The powerful men of the city are beginning to respect her… and some want her dead.
- Doctor Ruby Conray opened her office in the poorest part of the city. It is said she will accept anyone — even criminals. And even though she often doesn’t get paid, she’s staying. Her betters are giving her one month before she loses all her money — and, subsequently, her life. Her reputation? She’s already lost that.
- Doctor Bruno Turner teaches at the university and is considered the leading figure in medical progress in the city. From time to time, he clashes with the clergy, but it seems Bishop Columbus Ede has a soft spot for him. However, he is also known for his arrogance and refuses to treat anyone who can’t pay well.
- Arnold Shea (25) is a man everyone knows—at least among the poor. When a knife is drawn in a brawl, he’s the one who steps in and calms the situation before blood is spilled. A good father to his family and a father figure to the community, he’s widely respected. His little daughter is only two years old, and everyone adores him. Despite the hardships of his life, he always carries a smile on his face.
- Grace Shea (20) hasn’t had an easy life, but she has always strived to be a good, kind, and loving Christian. She got married and has a child, but her family is poor, and Grace struggles to find a job to bring more money to the table.
- Arthur Higginbottom (17) — a small and unknown name, yet thanks to his parents, he secured a warm little place as a potboy for Sir Waverly Scott. Many could envy him. He has the romantic eyes of a kicked puppy, but fists always ready for a brawl.
Mechanics
Players must work and earn money. Three times during the game, they must pay taxes, which amount to 1/10 of their starting capital (but the taxman can adjust this at their own discretion — they may also blackmail or forgive payments).
Players are also asked to pay for their food (voluntary option for deeper immersion).
Resistence can be restored by doctors. Doctors must purchase healing supplies (likely gummy bears) from the game organizers, so they also have to pay for resources and don’t have unlimited stock.
If a character runs out of resistence, they lose a life and are taken to a doctor, who can revive them (again, this costs resources) – plus, the character is out of the game for 15 minutes.
If a character runs out of lives, they are dead.
Resistence can also be restored through prostitutes, who may give up 1 health point and transfer it to another character.
A player can go up to 2 points above their resistence base.
The prostitute has several options: they can give the character a resistence point, leave the situation unchanged, or drain 1 point from the character. The decision is based on things like personal sympathy, financial reward, etc. (Optional: if the characters are in love, they may both restore 1 resistence point.)
Sex is handled:
In-game, based on mutual agreement
By a back massage / mutual hand massage
By non-touch descriptive roleplay
Completely out-of-game, with a nod of the head
Fistfights are purely theatrical and based on mutual agreement. They do not affect health.
For gamist (mechanical) combat, weapons are required. Some characters have swords, clubs, or knives—standard hit zones apply.
Police officers have pistols and soft bullets (foam darts or similar). The number of darts corresponds to the number of bullets. A dart cannot be used unless the player owns a pistol.
For darts, the damage is as follows:
Hit to a limb = 1 resistence point lost
Hit to the torso (or head, though aiming at the head is prohibited) = 3 resistence points lost
If a character’s resistance drops to 0, they must fall to the ground and allow others one minute to search them (counting silently to 100).
Anyone who places a hand on their body and says “I search you” must be given all in-game items currently in their possession.
After receiving +1 Resistance Point from intimacy (e.g., with a prostitute), every male character falls asleep for 1 minute (player counts silently to 60).
During this time, anyone present may search the sleeping character using the usual rule: place a hand on them and say “I search you.” The character must hand over all in-game items they are currently carrying.
Important: The player whose character was searched may realize shortly after waking up that something is missing. It is up to the player to decide how their character reacts—suspicion may fall on the prostitute or anyone else nearby.
Official weddings with full ceremony are scheduled for Day 2 at 16:00. However, priests may secretly marry anyone at any time. (The marriage is valid only if confirmed by an official document reviewed by the Mayor.)
There will be an in-game location representing the upcoming machinery of businessman Bradley Harrington.
The factory is scheduled to launch on Day 2 at 18:00.
For each act of sabotage, the launch will be delayed by one hour.
The factory can be completely destroyed, either mechanically or through magic. In such a case, its launch will be postponed indefinitely… but not permanently prevented.
The game has a limited amount of money, and not much more will be introduced into the game.
Merchants earn 50 pounds per hour from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM (they must visit the mayor for this). For each person who officially works for them, they earn an additional 10 pounds (a contract must be signed).
Anyone can work. In practice, they must work at least 20 minutes of each hour for it to count as work. This means they must do push-ups/squats at the designated location. In exchange, they receive their wage for the hour, depending on what the employee agrees upon.
The following laws apply in Aetherwick:
Women must listen to their father, and later to their husband.
Touching another man’s wife is illegal.
A woman must follow her husband’s or father’s orders.
The usual laws about killing, hurting, stealing, etc.
The police can imprison anyone. A person can be held in prison for a maximum of 30 minutes, after which they must be released. Another person can help release someone from prison by coming and escorting the prisoner out by the hand, without being caught. Visits in the prison are permitted.
Any permanent conviction must be handled through the mayor, to whom the following are presented:
Witnesses
Evidence (in-game documents)
The mayor accepts court materials from 9 AM to 8 PM.
On the 3rd day at 10:00, the parliamentary elections will take place.
- First, everyone who wishes to speak will have the opportunity.
- Then, every person with voting rights (all the men in the game) will have a chance to vote. The votes of the nobility count three times, while the votes of the merchants count twice.
- Anyone convicted of a crime or currently imprisoned loses their right to vote.
- The votes will be counted, and the elected participant will have the opportunity to step forward and give a speech.
Afterward, the last 5 songs will play, during which players must finish what they need to do, gather in a circle, and then the game’s conclusion will be announced, along with what happened afterward.
